Just For Kids

Windsor’s Steven Langlois, who goes by the stage name, Etienne, earlier this week was chosen favourite children’s artist at the 2004 Canadian Music Week (CMW) convention in Toronto.

The annual entertainment industry trade show is the country’s largest.  Langlois was picked by a committee of music professionals, as well as by fans who voted online.

Langlois’s 2003 album, C’est le temps, last year was voted best children’s recording at the CMW.  A French teacher near Chatham, Langlois was born and educated in Windsor.

Recently, he released an English-language CD, Grammar Jams, and performs about 50 concerts a year across North America.

He will appear in Windsor for two school shows at Capitol Theatre, on May 5 and 19.  His CDs are available at Scholar’s Choice, 3-2565 Lambton St. (966-7433).
