Étienne

By Lauren Eastman

On February 7th, the grade eight and nine French students took a field trip to the Winspear Centre to see the award winning Etienne.  We enjoyed songs such as Etre, Aller and C’est le Temps. C’était magnifique!

Etienne, whose real name is Steven Langlois, was a teacher from Norwich, Ontario.  He found that music was an excellent way to teach his students and upon the debut of his first CD, he has been singing to students all around the world.  He is the winner of the 2003 Children’s Album of the Year, 2004 Favourite Children’s Artist, (both accomplishments from MTV’s Canadian Music Indie Awards) and two Parent’s Choice Awards.  He is currently on his world tour which will take him to Canada, the United States, Australia and New Zealand.
