Universally, teachers and parents have grown tired of poor literacy results and the overall lack of English grammar comprehension in learners.
Whether it is recognizing the difference between a verb, preposition and conjunction or being able to spell correctly, too many learners lack the most basic of
English grammar skills. Grammar Jams and Grammar Jams 2 CDs and Instructional Guides make accomplishing literacy goals engaging and enjoyable.
For use in the home and English, E.S.L. and Special Education classrooms, Grammar Jams is the perfect supplementary teaching tool to help learners on the road to English literacy.
Grammar Jams is designed to meet the following goals:
Advance learners’ understanding of several, specific grammatical and thematic English language structures
via differentiated instruction and
multiple intelligences based songs and
activities
Improve understanding of English writing skills
Improve understanding of English reading and word-recognition skills
Target the most commonly misspelled words in the English language
Introduce spelling techniques and improve understanding of spelling in learners
Expose learners to the most commonly used words in the English language including those on Dolch’s list and other professionally recognized English word lists
Use songs that engage learners inductively, through singing and physical movement
Accomplish all of the above goals by combining popular styles of music with catchy grammar and thematic songs that improve English literacy
The instrumental tracks on the Grammar Jams CD provide an opportunity for learners to review and create their own versions of the lyrics. For example, the instrumental version of the song “Jump!” (track #12) allows learners to sing the song with any regular verb. Learners can shout and act out the verbs while singing the song.
